New Notions Of Home
Wellington, New Zealand, 2023
‘New Notions Of Home’ critiques Aotearoa’s dominant housing ideologies, utilising documentary and the vernacular of architectural photography to present viable alternatives to the status-quo. A collection of Wellington homes and architects, which provide solutions to issues confronting Aotearoa’s housing environment. It promotes marginalised housing models, which offer a precedent for progress and a more inclusive, utopian understanding of what home can be; an optimistic and practical vision for the future.
This project was featured in the Exposure exhibition, 2023.

Nicole’s Living Room
“My house is in a perpetual state of show-home readiness” said Nicole with a laugh and subtle note of pride, when I asked which day would be best to photograph Block Party’s interiors. She wasn’t wrong, with boutique furniture carefully acquired over years of searching and a rich ecosystem of exotic house plants, her home was immaculate. As the co-housing projects initiator, she certainly has a lot to be proud of.
